About WPPR
WPPR is a set of free tools for working with PDF files and images: merge, split, compress, convert, sign and more. The core idea in one sentence: your files never leave your device. Every tool runs inside your browser, so we do not upload your documents to any server or store them.
Why we built WPPR
Most PDF tool sites upload your file to their servers to process it, ask you to sign up, impose daily limits or watermarks, and some never explain what happens to your file afterwards. That is annoying for ordinary files and worrying for sensitive ones such as contracts, ID cards and bank statements. We wanted a simple, honest alternative: tools that work instantly, with no signup and no upload, and that you can verify yourself.
What we offer
- Organize: Merge PDF, Split PDF, Delete PDF Pages, Organize PDF Pages, Rotate PDF.
- Optimize and repair: Compress PDF (including target size), Repair PDF, PDF to Grayscale.
- Convert: Images to PDF, PDF to JPG, PDF to PNG, PDF to Text, PDF to Word (Text Only), OCR PDF & Images, Extract PDF Images.
- Edit and sign: Add Page Numbers, Watermark PDF, Sign PDF, Edit PDF Metadata, Crop PDF, Resize PDF to A4, PDF Header & Footer.
- Image tools: Compress Images, Resize Images, Convert Image Format.
Alongside them we publish in-depth guides on the blog explaining how the tools work and how to avoid common mistakes.
Our principles
- Privacy first. Processing in the browser is the rule, not the exception. We explain and demonstrate it on the Your files are safe page.
- Free, no signup. No accounts, no cards, and no watermark imposed on your files.
- Honesty about limits. Each tool says what it does and does not do, and we do not promise what we cannot deliver.
- Quality and testing. Before each release we run automated scenarios in Chrome with real files, and fix what we find.
- Listening. We read every message, and many improvements came from user feedback.
How the tools work
Modern browsers read the file from your device directly and process it with JavaScript without sending it anywhere. We rely on well-known open-source libraries for this, and explain more on the blog.
Open-source technology we rely on
- pdf-lib to create and modify PDF files (MIT license).
- PDF.js from Mozilla to render pages and extract text (Apache 2.0 license).
- JSZip to create ZIP files (MIT or GPL license).
- Tesseract.js for optical character recognition (Apache 2.0 license).
Thanks to the maintainers of these projects; they are the foundation of what we offer.
Limits we state clearly
- Very large files depend on your device memory and may fail on weaker phones.
- OCR downloads language data on first use, so it needs an internet connection.
- We do not currently offer password encryption or unlocking of PDF files.
- PDF to Word transfers text only and does not preserve tables or layout.
- The signature our tool adds is a visual drawn signature, not a certified digital signature.
